MTO - Change sales order - scope of check ignored

Hi All,

We are having a scenario where CTP creates planned order against the MTO sales order. PPDS will then reschedule all orders based on certain production planning requirements.

Then BOP or executing VA02 is supposed to provide new requirement date based on changed planned order date by PPDS. When we execute VA02 we see that existing planned order /process order is ignored by CTP and it triggeres new planned order creation.

We have all relevant ATP categories included in scope of check. Also there is no "receipt recreate" checkbox selected in check instructions.

Kindly suggest what might be triggering this incorrect behavior.

We are on EHP3 for SCM 7.0.

Best regards,

The sales order item that is called for the CTP check exists within an individual customer segment

the main output of the planned order whose components are to be checked also exist within the same individual customer segment. In that case system will generate the planned order within an individual customer segment (make-to-stock segment)

    • This could be happening for a couple of reasons -

      • The old planned order unpegs from the Sales Order - run a Prod Heur & check the logs, might help ur analysis.
      • Check if the Old plnd order was moved far out of the PP/DS horizon (unlikely) & as a result the system thinks it needs a new Planned order to cover the SO.

Your expectations are justified. The date changes to the old planned order should be picked by the SO on VA02/re-ATP. Assuming the old planned order gets set with a OUTPUT FIRMED check box.
