Mass update of Classification Class in Material Master

Is there a way and if so, what's the best practice to change a Class/Characteristic for a material in the master via a mass update. See screenshot but we basically need a way to change all materials that reference Z_DOC_MTS003 to Z_DOC_MTS004 as well as corresponding Characteristic Value for the Class

The removal should be pretty easy with CL24N,

enter the class and list all allocations, select all and click the trashcan.

Adding materials to the new class can also be done from CL24N. If you have less than 1000 then best you copy and paste from Excel to the CL24N screen. If it is more then you have to consider a LSMW for classification.

Just to follow up, when adding materials in CL24N via cut and paste from spreadsheet, it appears i can only do a page at a time? (13 rows). Not the entire amount of rows in spreadsheet. (360)

exact, thats the reason why I said LSMW in case of more than 1000, where 1000 is just a number that should represent a threshold, some people are quite quick with copy and paste and do not get bored (maybe you have a trainee who can do it), and others are quick in developing a LSMW object.

Is there any other transaction where I can mass add class please?

Unfortunatelly I dont have acces to CL24N or to work with LSMW.

No, you have to sort this out internally with your supervisor, to get access and training on LSMW

thank you for answer.

That will be probably problem, because we dont have right to use LSMW, or MASS or any t-code like this.

I can work only with basic t-codes.

And does exist there any transaction for customer as well as there is VA45 for customers?

These are standard transactions, there are no other transaction names for the same functionality. You either have to ask for access and training on that instruments or you have to give this kind of work to your IT department.
