Installation of SAP Web Application Server Java 6.40 and content

Hi,

At this moment I´m trying to install last version, but the system show me the following message:

"ERROR 2006-01-30 14:16:06

MDB-070021 Registry information for database software found in system but the software check failed. The software was not properly removed or installed incorrectly."

Note: How I can remove complete Maxdb from windows registry?

I really appreciate any help.

Check under the SAP folder. If there is a system id there, get rid of it. Make sure that the MaxDb folder on the harddrive is deleted.

Right now, the installation process is in phase 6 / 29.

The system show me the following message:

"ERROR 2006-01-30 15:55:54

MDB-070020 The database installer reported an error. Some database applications are probably still running. Check the log file sdbinst.log."

After check the log file "sdbinst.log", the error is:

"error occured while executing sapdbxie -i

sapdbxie -i: Service registration failed!

sapdbxie -i: Could not register service at description store:

sapdbxie -i: Could not open session to registry DB

sapdbxie -i: Service installation failed:

sapdbxie -i: The operation completed successfully.

installation exited abnormally at Mo, Jan 30, 2006 at 15:55:54"

Did you use the uninstall utility to remove the other engine?

I didn´t use an uninstall utility.

I removed all entries about dbmax, manually from the windows registry.

Hi,

I have also faced the same problem with <b>MDB-07021</b>.

deleting system id in the registry and deleting MaxDB from the hard drive didnot help.

Finally I have deleted the registry entry with "SAP DBTech" a full node. Now my installation is running at 2/27.

Hello Henry,

I had the same problem , because I uninstalled an old version of sneak preview by deleting the folders where it was located , and when I tried to install the new version the installation failed with the message:

ERROR 2006-01-27 12:44:38

MDB-070021 Registry information for database software found in system but the software check failed. The software was not properly removed or installed incorrectly.

So I tried to delete all the entries in the registry refered to the DB but it didn't work.

The solution was to install the MAXDB downloading it from www.mysql.com. If you remember the user and password of the DB deleted in your sistem you can now delete the corresponding "phantom " instance of the old DB (usually named J2E) with the tools provided by the DB.

After you need to uninstall the DB, so you clean definitively the system for a correct installation.

Hello Fernando,

I´m trying to do the last chance and I did manually remove any entrance called "J2E" from the windows registry.

I did run again the installation process and when I reach the phase 6 / 29, the system show me the following message:

"Connection to the database host failed (x_server might be down)".

I´m a little confused, because when I did check the log file, I did read:

"INFO 2006-01-31 09:29:19

The service 'XServer' started successfully on host 'Local'." (without underline "x_server").

"INFO 2006-01-31 09:29:25

The service 'SAPDBWWW' started successfully on host 'Local'."

Please, tell me if I have any chance to finish the process, if not, I´ll do your first advise.
