Contract Still Appear in Sourcing When Qty is Exhausted/Exceeded

Dear Gurus,

I have tested that the Contract is not appear in sourcing (ex:ME01,ME52N, ME56) when not approved yet or deleted or the validity date is out of range, but still appear in sourcing althoungh qty is exhausted or exceeded.

So my question is why the Contract still appear in sourcing when quantity in Contract is exhausted or exceeded ?

how can a contract be not approved if it was in use and even the quantity is exhausted?

What do you expect for a exhausted quantity in the source list ME01? ME01 is a manual maintenance transaction, the buyer has to take care that the exhausted contract is removed from here and a new one is added.

in source determination SAP only checks the validity of the contract but does not check the quantity for performance reasons.(see OSS note 32375 - PReq source determination: closed contracts )

Hi,

    Refer the KBA: 2002118 - Contract with no valid conditions is being proposed as a valid source of supply on ME51N which explains the system design.
