BO servers ports firewall depend on how you are going to install. If you are going to use single box for BO installation and database or using two boxes ,one for BO App and one for Database .Ports are depend on the installation and number of servers.

See attached link to understand the firewall ports.

Hi,

What are port that we have to open before installing the 4.1 version?

Amit – if you going with single box installation means CMS database and BO application are on the same server then no need to open ports for initial installation.

If database and application are on the different box and still on the same zone with no firewalls between servers then no need to open ports for initial installation.

If database and application are on the different box & firewall restriction then database port (which you assign) should open from database server to BO Application server.

For access BO applications & clients app from your local system ports are required to be open which you are going to be set in BO servers. Normally open the port range 6400-6499 for BO between client to BO server. Addition of this Tomcat ports 8080,8443,8005,these are the default ports until you will change in the BO installation.

what are the main points that we have to keep in mind before installing.

Amit – Before installation check the PAM of BI 4.X service pack (Which you are going to install) to see the compatibility of server hardware and BI version ,Installation location and disk space etc..

What are the key points of Sizing,  how we can setup that how much system, ram and users required?

Amit- For sizing calculation see the attached link. Based on the requirement calculate the Core & RAM.
