Personas Security - Assigning Flavors to Users

All,

I'm experiencing strange behavior when it comes to assigning flavors to users.  My questions/concerns:

• There are four of one flavor assigned to my user, but in the Flavor Maintenance transaction, it's only assigned once:

• Are there any best practices and/or known issues for using groups, mass user maintenance, or mass group maintenance?  I've been experiencing inconsistencies regarding assigning roles and flavors.
• Is there a difference in functionality between assigning a flavor to a user vs. a group with said user? Is there a difference between assigning a flavor and sharing a flavor?

This might be a stupid question, but are you sure this is the same flavour listed four times, and not four separate flavours all with the same name? In the admin transaction, look for all the flavours for that transaction and see if there are duplicates.

I say this because I have never seen this happen any other way. My own user typically has flavours assigned in multiple ways and this has never happens. It is possible that it is a bug, but I think it is more likely to just be duplicate flavours.

Thanks for the response, Steve.  I ended up deleting all of the flavors and transporting them back in, via the 'Import Flavors' transaction in /PERSOS/ADMIN_UI. 

FWIW, I did not create/transport four flavors with the same name.  There's something funky going on in this environment...

That's certainly curious. I've never seen that before. You say you used export/import this time. Did you use a transport before? If this happens again I would create an OSS message about it, and leave the flavours there for investigation. This certainly shouldn't happen, obviously!
