Routing selection for same material

Hi PP experts,

We have a common sub assembly use for different Fert material. But our actual production for different fert is on a different line area in the workshop. So means for the same sub assembly the bom is same but the Routing is different and work center is different. We want to know is there a method that can support us automatic select the right routing during MRP run and create the right production order with right routing and then we can check capacity load with CM01.

Could you please give me some advises? Thank you.

Regards,

Steve

Hello Steve,

There is nothing like right and wrong routing. How system will come to know which one is right routing?

You need to have different production version for your different routing with same BOM. Selection method in MRP 4 view - 2 Selection by production version. Also you can use the Quota Arrangement to plan the particular product on particular assembly line.

Also note in CM21 and CM25 you can select a planned order and change the production version.

Steve,

I don't think you can achieve your requirement with any standard functionality and you can check with BADI MD_MODIFY_PRODVERS  whether you can define any custom logic to meet your requirement.

Hi,

If subassembly code is same for different line area ,it will net the stock available for subassembly first before opening production order . In such case how would you know , if it is produced using routing belonging to same line area.

You can use MRP area to represent different line area & it will behave like a different plant with different routing.

For same plant ,try using Collective Order functionality... It is also called "direct Prodution " ... or Production Version
