Response from Symon Braunbaer is bang on! Only thing is need to cleanup sapinst directory and restart swpm. Retry at the point of failure did not work for me .

I had the same problem. The solution for me was the post from "Christian Schinseck" and the cleanup and restart swpm from "Swapnil Lanjekar"

Thanks to all for this great work !

Hi Videesh,

Please check SAP Note 2222824 - Software Provisioning Manager error: errno=FKD-00024 Unknown attribute policyActionType in table tORA_DatafilesImport.

The note indicates that there is a missing field in the created DBSIZE.xml and as workaround restart the export/exportpreparation without the using of parallel option of R3szchk calculation, until the bug-fix.R3szchk

Hi Shouvik,

with SP9 i have got no entries in DBSIZE.XML and so i had to use the workaorund from Symon to change the keydb.xml. I don´t want to do it this time and so i use SP8_6. For me it´s the easier way.

My answer should only be an information that SP8 works and SP9 has still the error.

fyi

i get the same error with SWPM SP9_0 from 15.9.2015.

With SWPM SP8_6 the issue didn´t come up during the export.

Hi Mirko,

I faced a similar issue last week. The solution pointed out by Symon worked for me in SP09. Do note that the changes have to be made in both the DBSIZE.XML files (in /ABAP/DB/ORA and sapinst_instdir ).

Do not forget to take a backup before making the changes.

Hello Videesh,

make a backup from the file DBSIZE.XML in sapinst_instdir and \ABAP\DB\ORA then remove the columns

"policyActionType" and "policyDays" from the original one.

After that please retry the installation with the option continue old

installation.

remove:

      <column name="policyActionType">

      </column>

      <column name="policyDays">

      </column>

Many thanks, I just need to be a little bit more specific here:

In addition, it is also necessary to remove ALL the sections, that look like this:

  <fld name="policyActionType">
    <strval><![CDATA[]]>
    </strval>
  </fld>
  <fld name="policyDays">
    <strval><![CDATA[]]>
    </strval>
  </fld>

Suuuuch a nasty bug !!!

Hello Videesh,

I think this issue was already solved with latest SWPM (at least SP08 PL4).

You have to start import from scratch with new media.

If not work, put here the "sapinst_dev.log" ("sapinst.log" does not have the details needed).

Carlos

Hello Videesh,

I have to correct myself, the solution was not delivered in SP08 PL4, it is supposed to be in PL5.
