Once you tick mark batch field to 'not be' invisible and you again goto same setting but you see that your changes are not saved(meaning the field is again marked for being invisible). Correct ? Refer this note 120901: Hiding of columns by table control is not possible and 329437: ME21N: Functions not available. Will be helpful to you.

The batch field only appears if the material is batch managed, there is no other reason to display this field.

You should not delete from Invisible fields rather just remove the tick mark and check the batch field appears as input.
