Shop Papers: Eliminate pop-ups to print shop paper

Hello experts,

We have set up a shop paper routine from IW38 which has been working fine for a long time but the customer does not like the pop-ups which appear when he has to display the shop paper in PDF form.

Our current procedure works like this.

We select the work order which is displayed after selecting transaction IW38. After the work order is displayed, we select the menu option ORDER/PRINT ORDER. We then get a pop-up asking us to select shop paper which also has the output device LCL. We click on the PRINT PREVIEW button at the bottom of the pop-up. We now get another pop-up for print shop paper and we have to select PRINT PREVIEW again which then displays the shop paper. The shop paper in PDF format is then printed from the  display. The requirement is to eliminate the 2 pop-ups and print directly from the work order.

Please advise if this is a feature that can be changed from the print program or is it configuration.

Thank you for any help.

Hello All,

I have followed the instructions for OID3 and SPAD : SELECT SHOP PAPERS (which has the output/Device entered in OID3) then I have to make a selection on this pop-up for PRINT PREVIEW and I get another pop-up PRINT SHOP PAPER and I need to make another selection PRINT PREVIEW before I get the shop paper display

Hi David,

First check in OID3 whether user has correct output device for specific Shop paper then in User profile -su3 give correct Output Device.

Hopefully this should work for you or else you need to follow the SAP Note mention above by Paul.

Hi David,

Are you talking about the user default setting you have in IW32 ?

Check whether you have checked "Display Dialog Box from List Editing when Printing" under general tab.

Hi,

Not sure what popups you are getting. See the note 1891689 which outlines a popup issue from IW38 and gives a solution.
