SSO BI4 ON AIX

Hi experts,

I am trying to setup an automatic SSO (LDAP) for BI4.1 SP5 patch 3 on AIX 6.1, I follow the SAP note  :

1965433 - Best Practice: How To setup Active Directory Single Sign On when BOE CMS is on Unix or Linux for BI4.1

I have a question about this note

  • setspn -a HTTP/myappserver.domain.com bosso (where domain.com is the name of your AD domain the Tomcat machine ...)

It means il 's mandatory to add the Aix box to the windows AD domain  with SAMBA for exemple  or just connect physiquely the Aix box to the network  (connect network adapter to cable) and have an IP adress in this network ?

Thanks

Just connected to the network, domain addition is not needed. It's just to allow the response to a Kerberos request which will build a header containing your username for the Trusted Auth portion of the login process to utilize.

This SSO process is essentially using Trusted Auth.

Hi Josh

we have a third party quoting us for a single box, LDAP SSO into LaunchPad. i'd like to know how long a professional would take to do this using HEC.

can you give me a rough estimation for a single box on 4.2 sp3
