Actually you need to see the assignment of User screen reference in OMT3E as suggested earlier.

I hope you guys have checked this in your SAP system before reply. Did you ?

OMT3E is used to change sequence for screen. That means you can use different screen sequence for different user. But here discussion is about mandatory field.

Are you both sure about that by using different 'Screen reference depending on the user' can make a field mandatory for one user and optional for another user ?

We were trying to explain how the things can be handled in SAP  for one user and not same for other user.

Hello Namitha

Check if different Screen reference are assigned to users in OMT3E under User screen reference.

this must be different which is causing this behaviour.

thanks

But I think, by using a different screen sequence (as per user from OMT3E), you can't make a field mandatory for single user.

Hello Dev ,

yes it will only change the Sequence of the screens and may some screens are not viewable to different user.

if we talk about the field selection then i think the field selction need to be cheked at Define Plant-Specific Field Selection and Plant-Specific Screen Selection under field selection if the users are form different plant

@ Namitha , if the users are checking data for different plants then check the above setting , if not then i think it must be a screen varient.

Check if any transaction variant is activated for the certain transaction.

Also have a look into the blog post

Did you check for the transaction variant in your system ?

Also check is there any own enhancement causes this behavior.

you should start with the docu in help.sap.com Assign Screen Sequences to User/Material Type/Transaction/Indust - Material Master - SAP Library

As you can see from the title it is possible to group users and assign certain screen sequences and references to a group of users. A group of users can finally be just a single user.  But this way it is in standard possible to have certain fields mandatory for per user. Just a question if that makes much sense. I never saw it in a production environment. And it either requires some skills to set this up to work properly or no skills to make a problem out of that.

So check in OMT3E transaction if there is something special for this user in question.
