SAP Archiving

Dear Users,

We are planning to find ways to archive ERP and BW data.

According to my thought SAP archiving is the only possibility.

However i want to know if there is any other way to archive SAP data apart from standard SAP archiving methods?

Like disk storage or something?

If yes, is this beneficial to do or are there problems and limitations?
