Set G/L by Item Level

Former Member

Hello,

I face a problem when i update Item Master Data-Inventory Tab the field Set Inv.Method by. I selected Item Level and i was expected to see available columns in warehouses(in item master data always) that are to be used for setting GL account in each item. However there are not these options neither in the main window nor in Form Settings. Have i understand the concept of Item Level setting incorrectly or is there an extra setting that i have to make in order to see this information??

Thank you in advance,

Kalliopi Zabafti

Hello to all,

finally i found the solution. After creating a new company  i realized that before enabling Advance GL Account determination, the scenario that i was expecting to work, WORKS. Enabling GL account determination although, makes this prossess unvailable since the same thing can be done in Advance GL Account Determination Window. However in GL Account Determination window the kriteria i would like to use are not available. (I can not even add UDF and use Formatted Search).

Thank you all,

When you select Item level G/L in the Item Master, the G/L Accounts determination for Revenue, COGS, Inventory, etc are taken as defined in the Inventory data tab, on the Warehouse row line. (If you do not see the G/L account, you could from Form settings enable them)

Once you set the G/L at Item level you have the flexibility to change the G/L accounts for a particular item.

Hello Kennedy,

Thank you for your response. Allthough as i mentioned in my question this doesn't work. There is nothing in Form Settings that has to do with GL Accounts. So this is not really helpful.

Hi,

you need to check your form settings of item master in inventory tab , click on form settings in inventory tab and make visible all gl accounts fields.

Hello Manish,

Thank you for your immediate response. I mentioned in my question that in Form Settings there are not the gl accounts fields. I attach one photo to see by yourself that there is no option for GL

accounts in Form Settings.

Thank you,

The Setting is set to item level don't take into your consideration the Warehouse option that is displayed.

1) Go to

Administration---- System Initialization----Company Details----Basic Initialization Tab

& check 'Enable Advanced G/L Account Determination' check box & update it.

2) One Additional form 'Determination Criteria' will display in..

    Setup---Financials----G/L Account Determination .

select Determination Criteria according to your need.

3) Open G/L Account Determination, Click on 'Advance' Button at Bottom

& define G/L Account Determination rule with combination of different Criteria like Item         Group,Item Code,Warehouse Code,Business Partner Group etc as per requirement

Entries will be posted according to defined rule.

Hello Kennedy,

Thank you again. I know how to set up gl account determination and how to work with multiple criteria. However it's not the case. Thank you for your effort helping me.

Hello Kennedy,

I suppose you refer to this answer. The problem i faced was not the anawareness of How to set GL Account Determination for Item Level through Account Determination but how to make it through Item Master Data and Inventory Tab. As i had enabled Advanced Gl Account determination, the option via Item Master Data was not available. And i wasn't aware that Advance Gl account Determination was the reason for this problem.

Thank you,
