Hi guys
I recently splitted out an APS only to discover that my LCM APS's Promotion Management Service do not want to start.
I went back to the original APS to have a look & it also stated the same thing. So cloning the original APS just ported the issue to the new LCM APS.
I tried all the resolutions in all the relevant KBA's, with no luck.. I also ran an repair on the whole installation with the same reults
My question is, is it possible to recreate the original APS? Because when you 'create a new server' in the CMC, it only gives you the 'split out' options..
Best regards
LJ
Hi Lukas,
Cloning a server doesn't solve problems because it copies the configuration of the faulty server to the new one.
The only way to have an "original" APS is to create a new SIA following this KBA:
How to create new SIA:
http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1262211
Also, it is always recommended to Split the APS:
How to size the Adaptive Processing Server (APS):

Hope this wil work,
Moslem

Hi Lukas,
Make sure to stop the SIA from CCM, then select it, and use the Delete button.
If this is not working, follow steps mentioned in this KBA:
http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1645926
Kind regards,
Moslem
Hi Moslem
Thanks for your reply.
I created a new SIA node with the default servers.
But the new APS is still "running with errors". When I looked at the properties, I saw that the Promotion Management Service did not start., which was my original issue..
So, it;s back to square one.. Is there a configuration file I can copy from a working environment?
Regards
LJ
Hi Lukas,
Try to split the APS as per KBA http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1694041

Could you please elaborate what is your exact issue is and what is happening when you clone or recreate teh APS. Also make sure you have added related services when you are splitting APS.
