Eclipse Developer Studio unable to add tasks directly to process flow diagram

Hello experts,

We are currently using SAP Identity Management Developer Studio 8.0.2 (attachment contains image of content level). While working with our Processes both Custom and Delivered, we are are unable able to add Tasks directly to the Process Flow Diagram. When attempting to do this, we receive a message stating: "Only processes can be added to the diagram" (attachment contains image of error).

We are expecting that tasks be added directly to to the diagram without the need of adding a process. Please advise if this is an incorrect expectation, or why we are unable to do perform this step.

Please note that the version of Developer Studio 8.0.2 was recommended to us due to SSL issues we were facing while attempting to connect the developer studio to the IdM database. We were told not to use the latest version of the studio which was 8.0.8 at the time.

Hi Brendan,

you should be able to add a local task into the process in the graphical designer.

Nevertheless, you cannot link a task from outside of the process / from another process - there you need to add a process surrounding this task.

Are you trying to add a local task or link a task from outside the process?

Cheers

Response from SAP did the trick, seemed to be a minor bug for our version of dev studio.

Dear Customer,
Try to click on some item in tasks (for example Action task) and then
click in the process diagram. After that you will be able to drag and
drop the task wherever you want.
