Express document "update was terminated" received from author ...

We are facing an issue while creating internal order KO01. When the user is trying to create an internal order, system is generating an internal order number which already exists in the system hence the user is getting the error. We did follow SAP note 333356 with no results

Can you please provide your expert advise.
