Migrating sites from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2012 R2

Hey Guys,

First of all, I'm totally new and I've deadline for next week! so I would like to apologize if I don't communicate like a regular user does.

A sale representative sent me here since I've a couple of questions prior to purchase 14.1.

This is my scenario,

We've several web apps developed on Framework 2.0 and they all uses a customize module we built back in time to generate reports with version 10.5. At that time, you were able to download an executable in order to install the DLL in the web server. Now, I found that executable it's no longer available plus the fact that most likely the executable (Crystal Reports for Framework 2.0 x86) it's not compatible with Windows Server 2012 Windows to give it a shot.

The only thing I need it's the DLL files installed on our web server in order for crystal report module to work. Now, we've tried with the SDK for Visual but since it requires Visual Studio installed we can't go down this line since we run several outsourcing audits over the year and we can't have our development tool install in our production server.

My questions are,

  1. Is there a way to do this without doing the purchase? I don't want to do an investment that we're not going to take advantage for 100%.
  2. If I do the purchase, I'm guessing that the libraries I need won't be available? I need 10.5 version and the SAP guy talked about 14.1
  3. This last question I might know the answer but I've to do the question just t make sure! with 14.1 available in the server I'll have to re-build our customize report module using this new version right?

Hope anybody could help me out.

Thanks in advanced,

You can get those older redist packages from this link

If it's going to work then great, if not only option is to upgrade to CR for VS for unmanaged reports.

If you are/were connecting to BOE then you need the .NET SDK package from Service Market place, requires support contract to get access to it.

You get CR for VS 2010 or above from this link:

    Don
