Hi,
I'm trying to maintain the message alerts in my process chain where i'll be notified if upon success/failure of the process chains. I have partially achieved it but the body of my message alert looks so clumsy as shown below. I have maintained only the text message which is in bold below in my messgae alert.

Is there some kind of setting which i am missing for getting only the highlighted message?
Thanks for your info in advcance.
Hi,
There may be a chance, depending on your SPS level and release.
At first the job log was always part of the message. With some SPS SAP changed the system behaviour and messages for successful steps never contained the job log. Note 2021473 then introduced a parameter in RSADMIN that lets you decide if you want the job log or not.
Try to implement the note and then maintain object RSPC_TEXT_FOR_SUCCESS with value initial using report SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN.
Best regards,
Reinhard

Hi Reinhard,
Thanks for your reply.. Even though i have not maintained RSPC_TEXT_FOR_SUCCESS previously, i was getting the alerts. So, just to play around i maintained it in the table RSADMIN but still no luck. I am still getting the log data which i dont want to..
I am currently on BW 7.3 with service pack 7.
Any further inputs from you please?
Hi Reinhard,
The note 2021473 seems to get the log details in the mail alert (which im already getting this without implementing the note). But still i have implemented RSADMIN parameter RSPC_TEXT_FOR_SUCCESS but still no luck.
Note 1847135 seems more relevant in my case as im already getting the log data which i dont want to have. Im currently on BW 7.3 service pack 7. According to the note, 1847135 says it needs a service pack upgrade to 10 which is a lot of work and much of process oriented..
Regards,
Kiran
Hi Kiran,
Yes, note 1847135 seems to be the one you need. With it SAP removed the log.
Unless I'm missing something, you don't need to do a service pack upgrade to implement it. Just use the correction instruction 1234359 for SAP_BW 730 that is included in the note. Your basis team should know the details.
Just for the records: Implementing 2021473 and the RSADMIN parameter would work as well since 1847135 is a prerequisite of 2021473 but it's not necessary in your case. Implementing the parameter without 2021473 cannnot help you though, since SAP only introduced the parameter with that note.
Best regards,
Reinhard
Hi Naveen,
You want to maintain message alerts in process chain so you should open process chain in change mode and then right click on variant where you want to keep messages so click on create message. select action( successful or error), create variant for message, click on edit document and maintain receipient list. Then activate process chain.
Thanks,

Hi,
why your going in that much complexity. Simply do in RSPCM and you will schedule the job by mentioning the sender mail id through the automatic notifications(hourly or daily).
If through this method it is not possible then only you look in to other way, because i am using process chains status by hourly notification and it fail immediately in scheduled time i will get the mail and working fine from RSPCM. Still any clarifications let me know.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi,
Implementing this in each step is a lot of overhead. Why don't you use the transaction RSPCM (Process Chain Monitor) ? There you can set-up the sending of mails for each process chain you add to the monitor. You can choose :
- always send a mail
- send a mail in case of errors
Kind Regards,
Els
