Early Watch Report - Change check parameters

Hi All,

I was wondering if you can change the criteria the Early Watch report looks at to determine amber status.

10.1.4.3 Users Authorized to Start all Reports

Client

No. of Users Having This Authorization

No. of Valid Users

001

1

2

900

13

69

910

6

7

Authorization objects:

Object 1: S_TCODE with TCD=SE38 or TCD=SA38 or TCD=SC38

Object 2: S_PROGRAM with P_ACTION=SUBMIT P_GROUP=*

Having gone through the users who have this, I am happy everything is ok.  But can I get the report to not show as amber somehow by altering the range of users allowed?

Thanks

Craig

Hi,

/SSA/DBS - This is the program that you can check with the abap team.

And INIT_USER_TABLES routine in above program.

Also refer - 1859691 - EWA check on "Users with critical authorizations" - how to match the numbers

Hi Craig,

I Strong believe this thresholds cannot be customized. Please take a look at the SAP Note below.

Note 1829914:Customize EWA Reports

Symptom

You would like to customize the EarlyWatch Alert (EWA) report generated by Solution Manager.

Environment

SAP Solution Manager 7.0 or higher.

Cause

The EarlyWatch Alert report is not customizable. This is working as designed.

Resolution

  1. SAP EarlyWatch Alert (SAP EWA) is a standard reporting tool with predetermined contents, thresholds and periodicity.
  2. It is not possible to remove or add a section from the report.
  3. Also it is not possible to change the overall rating of the report without following the suggestions from the EWA report.
  4. The EWA can only be scheduled once per week.
  5. In contrast, the Service Level Report (SLR) comes with its own setup workbench and supports free customizing.
  6. Check if SLR is applicable in your situation as that report can be customized.
  7. More information can be found at http://service.sap.com/slr.

Thanks Guys,

Not what I wanted to hear obviously.  Seems a little bazaar to me that you can't configure it to suit.  For us we have a number of BASIS people with a lot of authority and so we would have liked to have excluded them for being counted.

Similarly where we have a legitimate reason to allow certain authorities, for instance spool requests to a large group of users, we should be given the option of changing the limits or excluding them from the check.

I'll take a look at SLR but not sure it's appropriate for us.  Might investigate use of Enhancement Spots to allow us to exclude items in the report.

Cheers

Craig
