Material deescription change

Hello Experts,

We have changed the material description in the last month and the change log was updated accordingly.

Now the material description has been rolled back to the previous state and there is no update in the change log.

Could you please advise, what could be the reason for it ?

Nothing changes back by itself after a month.

If you have no change log then it is just an evidence that somebody else did it a different way, obviously with a direct table update, or with the material master direct input  where you can skip the change logging for performance reasons.

In any case it was somebody from your organization, a mail to all IT folks could get clarity quickly.

You can also check the transports that where imported to your production system recently. If you have a little order in your system then the text of the transport could already give you a hint. Otherwise you need to check for transports that has a Z or Y program within.

How the material description has been rolled back to the previous state ?

Have you done it by transaction MM02 ?

Remember, changes log will be recorded only by doing manually by transaction. Any kind of changes done by any program, will be not recorded into changes log.

  Did you try to run Program RSSCD100 with Object Class MATERIAL. This will give you more

info in regard to old and new value?

I did check in that program. But i did not find anything relevant.
