SAP Web IDE On-Premise problem: Unable to access selected system (404)

Hi all,

I recently installed the SAP Web IDE On-Premise to evaluate it and managed to quickly develop one demo Fiori App with the available OData services and deploy them to our backend. That was supposed to be a test if we have set all the required software in order to be able to dive in Fiori a bit more.

Then after a week or two all of a sudden it stopped working.

I now can't access the Service Catalogue and I can't deploy to the backend any more since I am getting the following error:

"Unable to access the selected system. Check your credentials and try again. If the problem persists, check if the OData service is available and contact your backend system administrator" (printscreens uploaded).

I spoke with our basis and he hasn't done any changes and I have checked my user/pass and can access the services in the browser.

Any advice is welcome!

Thanks in advance,

Ilina

    Hi Ilina and Raja, I faced same problem with OnPremise configuration.

    Onion.ini file has the following config.:

    -startup

    plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20140415-2008.jar

    --launcher.library

    plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_64_1.1.200.v20140603-1326

    -consoleLog

    -console

    -data

    serverworkspace

    -nosplash

    -vmargs

    -Dorg.eclipse.equinox.http.jetty.http.port=9090

    -Dorg.eclipse.equinox.http.jetty.autostart=false

    -Dhelp.lucene.tokenizer=standard

    -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8

    -Xms40m

    -Xmx384m

    and Destination file config. is:

    #ServiceDestination

    Description=MEXDEV

    Type=HTTP

    TrustAll=true

    Authentication=NoAuthentication

    WebIDEUsage=odata_abap,ui5_execute_abap,dev_abap

    Name=MEXDEV

    URL=http\://xxxxxxxx\:8000

    ProxyType=OnPremise

    WebIDESystem=MEXDEV

    WebIDEEnabled=true

    sap-client=120

    I read all your post and watched videos in scn.sap.com , trying all proposed solutions and tricks but without positive results.

    I didn't get any error message from /iwfnd/error_log.

    Can you help us to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ugo

    • Hi Matthias, thanks for your reply.

      I luckely solved by myself the problem... it was due to the destination file name not equal to system name.

      Probably it would be better that SAP develop a SAP connector wizard as done for SAP GUI 😉

      Thanks for your collaboration.

      Best Regards,

      Ugo

    In my case the issue was with some Gateway setup missing for one system, and another was SAML2 authentication, that had to be switched off for the time being, I don't know how to properly configure the destination file to work with that.

    • The local installation does not support principal propagation to a SAML2 protected endpoint and no certificate based logons. The only supported authentication method here is basic authentication with username and password.

      For Single Sign on with Principal propagation you have to use the cloud version.

      Best regards

    Just FYI, I had the same issue--my destination would not show up in the pick list. But I somewhat accidentally found that it was caused by an extra space at the end of one of the lines of my manually generated destination file. Nothing at all wrong with using a later version of Orion--just a simple trailing space. Make sure you have NO extra spaces in your destination config file.

    I am having same issue with local minisap; I used to be able to connect. And my Orion is 5.0.

    I've tried to uninstall the Orion but coming up with following message.

    F:\SAPWebIDE\director>director -uninstallIU com.sap.webide.orionplugin.feature.

    eature.group -destination f:\SAPWebIDE\eclipsef

    Installation failed.

    The installable unit com.sap.webide.orionplugin.feature.feature.group has not b

    en found.

    Application failed, log file location: F:\SAPWebIDE\director\configuration\1452

    82306399.log
