Software PowerBuilder 7.0 and 9.0 discontinued

I work in a company using PowerBuilder 7.0 and 9.0 I see This software has been discontinued (http://www.sap.com/corporate-en/about/our-company/policies/sybase/product-specific-license-terms.html), if I want to make commercial applications with software that has been discontinued are allowed?

    Hi Supratno;

       As long as you have valid licenses for any PB version - you can continue to build commercial applications using PB until there is no more MS-Windows.  😉

      Just a note though, that these old PB version are not certified for newer MS-Windows - so certain PB features may not work or render data correctly in O/S versions that these releases were not certified for. The fact that they are no longer supported means that you are basically "on your own" in using them and SAP will not fix any bugs or provide technical support.

    HTH - Good luck!

    Regards ... Chris

    The meaning of the products being discontinued is that it is no longer sold and/or supported by SAP. It does not prevent anyone (with a licensed copy) from creating commercial applications with it.

    At the company I work for we use PB 9 for our apps. The license is good forever. Discontinued means that they don't sell or support that version anymore. They only support the current version 12.6 and the prior version 12.5.

    As long as you don't have issues caused by Windows or Database versions, you should be able to use it as long as you want.
