Is there a B2B diagram that illustrates how EDI fits?

My clients are used to having a third-party EDI subsystem that connects with their trading partners (primarily Customers) and translates X12, EDIfact and VDA messages into a format for their legacy ERP system.

Is there a current diagram that illustrates the EDI data flow from Trading Partner or VAN through PO/PI to SAP Idocs?

I'm not clear enough on the necessary technology pieces from SAP to explain what is needed to replace an on-premise translator like Sterling Integrator or Seeburger.

Thoughts?

Hi Charlyn,

If you want to replace e.g the Seeburger solution on an existing SAP PI or PO system, the SAP B2B add-on will be a perfect match and I'm pretty sure all your requirements will be covered.

The product was launched in 03/2012 and now, I can say it is really mature and it keeps evolving covering more and more monitoring and messaging requirements.
