Set Datasource Location - to point to new table

We have multiple reports that point to the same table.  The last 3 fields of this table have been removed (another story) and these 3 fields are now in a new table identical to the first.

We tried to point to this new table via 'Set Datasource Location' and 'Replace With' and 'Update'

however, this only seems to create an alias of the new table name, and not physically point to the new fields. (or unable to see these new fields anyway.)

any thoughts?

Many Thanks in Advance.

Hi Sharon,

What database are you reporting against?

When you 'set the datasource', make sure you highlight the 'tables' from the source and destination and not the connection before hitting the update button.

You can the expand the Properties option and see what table it's pointing to.
