How to create a REST Service in ByDesign (CustomBO & SAP BO)?

Dear SAP Cloud Experts,

I read some information about consuming rest based webservices in ByD and C4C, but unfortunately it is still unclear for many of us how to create (if possible) a REST Service based on our own Business Objects or on SAP BO´s.

I read in a blog of Thomas Schneider

that it should be possible to achieve with some thing based screens but ByD does not offer any thing based UIs in the current version so how to achieve the mentioned requirement. I think that this is really important to know for a lot of developers/technicians as it is one of the best and comfortable ways to integrate mobile applications with ByD/C4C.

Cloud for Customer already contains an oData generator based on SAP Business Objects and Custom BO´s. But it would suffice to deliver rest based services in the first step which would help us to proceed and to avoid the painful SOAP based webservices.

In C4C you can generate RESTFUL oDATA APIs for any standard and custom object. This is an administrator activity and does not require SDK. You can of course can still generate SOAP APIs via the SDK as well, but as you know requires a developer skill set.

+ as they have some how-tos on the oDATA modeller.

Yes, I am already aware of the odata generator of C4C, but we urgently need something similiar in ByD. I know that SAP is already working on the odata generator. But, with our current possibilities...Is there no way that we create rest services in ByD?
