Tool life management

Hello Guru's,

My client has a requirement for the in-house manufacture forging tool.

The tool life of the forging tools need to be monitored and according to that new requirement of the same tool will be created.

For Example       Suppose we have a requirement of Forged tool A for creating FG.

A can create 50,000 qty of the FG.

                                We have a requirement for FG=75000Nos.

                                  So MRP has to create requirement for the forged tool= 2Nos.

Once the tool life is 90% completed, the system should allow stores department to issue the new FT tool to the production department.

Please suggest......

There is no functionality on MRP to control the life of tools.

Hi Animesh,

Such functionality is not available in MRP, but you can track how many FG produced with tool A.

as said by Caetano there is no provision in MRP for controlling life of tools..... explore the option of implementing PRT concept with PM integration..check the below link...

I have tested the scenario earlier also but my requirement is not for tracking the use of PRT...
