Cannot Publish "Visualization" to Cloud

Hi all,

my goal is to understand "what" can be published into SAP Lumira Cloud and shared with other users.

I'm working with the standard "30-days-trial" Lumira desktop version, linking it to an HANA system where i've built some views and create a model inside Lumira (a graph and a story).

Inside the Lumira Desktop "Share" tab, when I click the "story" icon i can only see two options:

  1. Export as File
  2. Publish to SAP Lumira Server

When i click the releated "dataset" i can see only:

  1. Publish to SAP Lumira Server

and don't see anithing about SAP Cloud.

The only way I can publish something into SAP Cloud is to use the "Save as" functionality inside "File" menù where i can choose between "Local" and "SAP Cloud".

I've seen plenty of videos (SAPAcademy, YouTube Channel, etc...) where button "SAP Lumira Cloud" is available, but it is not to me.

The only thing I can achieve using the "Save as" functionality is to publish a file that user can "download" after loggin into SAP Lumira Cloud; i can't share a report that a user can view into the browser (ex. a Story).

Maybe is due to the "trial version"? If that's the case, may I download a partner's license? Or am I doing something wrong?

What i really want to know is if I can publish single graphics (or embedded into "story") and what is the authorization that i can grant users.

Thanks for support

Regards

I have the "paid" desktop version of Lumira 1.25.1

Individual visualizations can't be published to the Cloud Server

I can publish stories and datasets from HANA offline data sources

If you have the "free" version, maybe ask for a 30 day trial version for the paid license?

Hi,

yesterday I activated the "30-days trial" (actualy now the counter is set to 29 days) but it seems I still can only "export as file" or publish to "Lumira Server" when i select the "Story":

The only way to go to "Lumira Cloud" seems to use the "save as" functionality.

Maybe, as you said, there's some free license to activate to test it deeply.

Hi,

i got a test license so now the trial days counter disappear, but still can't see "Lumira Cloud" button or upload Stories.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

I am not really sure at this point; what is your version, build for Lumira Desktop - I think it is under Help > About

Hi,

my version is 1.25.1 build 23.

Maybe the problem can be the "network" setup pane?

Inside Lumira Cloud box i see https://cloud.saplumira.com maybe this is a wrong parameter?

Thanks

That is the same parameter and build as mine

If no one else responds, I recommend contacting SAP Support with this - I am at a loss. We're using the same version

I think i've found a clue.

I've downloaded an example template from Lumira Desktop an i can share it directly to Lumira Cloud as i expected.

So probably the main problem is the way I "composed" my document.

As first step I created some views into HANA system (attribute, analitycs and calulation) and then into lumira desktop call the calculation view to build my report.

Maybe I do something wrong during one of this steps.

Hi,

i've done again my views (attribute and anlityc) and the result is the same. (cant publish to Cloud an interactive report but only a "downloadable file")

I'm wondering if this could depend on the fact that my "Dataset" is a view inside the HANA DB and not the same as the example i've download from initial Lumira desktop splashscreen , that is an xls.

Maybe Lumira Cloud, that to me seems not have have connection with the HANA DB (because I didn't set them anywhere), can't access data to build the report. This would exaplain why the example report (that has an xls dataset) can be published and shown on Cloud.

I'll search about this a bit more, maybe i have the wrong expectation about what Cloud can do.

Hope someone can give an hint, otherwise i'll ask SAP support for help.

Thanks.

Ok solved it.

At least with this version of Lumira Desktop and Cloud you can only share report with an "offline" connection to the Haha db. So when you publish the dataset is converted to another format (I think an  xls) and the story can be seen and modify online because it's data source is available.

Regards.
