Hi everyone!
I am trying to upgrade an Oracle from 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4 on Linux. I installed oracle 11.2.0.4 in /oracle/SM1/11204,
and add environments:
setenv ORACLE_HOME_TGT /oracle/SM1/11204
setenv ORACLE_HOME_SRC /oracle/SM1/11203
When I wrote in oratab SM1:/oracle/SM1/11203:Y: I am getting this error in DBUA:
But it's already opened in mount mode:
When I wrote in oratab SM1:/oracle/SM1/11204:Y: I am getting this error in DBUA:
What I am doing wrong ? Help me please !
Hello Igor ,
is your database started with same ORACLE_HOME as you mentioned above (/oracle/SM1/11203) ?
Sometimes i saw situation like you have when database was started under another oracle home
, for example /oracle/SM1/112_64 in your case , try to figure it out.

Hi Sergo !
Yes, there is a symlink /oracle/SM1/112_64 > /oracle/SM1/11203, but if I use it in /etc/oratab, dbua didn't see any databases. I found that I should use SAP Oracle Patches before installing a new Oracle. After then I can use dbua.sap.sh which should fix my problems. So I am downloading and installing that patch now
