NW 7.40 Java memory parameters

Hi,

Need to fine tune the Java memory& server node parameters/threads for NW 7.4 system after installation

Please suggest me relevant notes and guide for the same.

Hi Daniel,

This very much depends on the type of system, environment and other factors on how to tune.

You can work with default setting for now and modify parameters depending on analysis, in hyper care period, EWA, checking GC or adding a server node.

System is PI & Portal 7.4

same suggestions as above.

However, you need to have minimum 2 server nodes per application server for a PI system.

Read - 1827219 - Minimum number of J2EE Server Nodes for Productive SAP Process Integration (PI) Systems

And for portal, it depends on the load, cache quality, customization etc

Read - scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7284 and scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7383, these are old but useful links.

You can also use solman (eg EEM) and Wily for monitoring the performance of your JAVA system.
