Migration from SP12 to SP15

Hi all,

I'm evaluating the migration from SP12 to SP15 on AIX5.3. Has anybody made any negative experiences regarding this issue? Are there any obstacles/glitches I will have to consider?

Hi Heiko,

I have no special experience on AIX (so there might be some AIX specialities), but in general this should be no problem. I have SP15 running, it has some bugs, but probably far less than SP12 (and much more features). I expect SP16 the most stable version after many features have been introduced into SP13, but as said, it works OK, I don't know of any serious trouble you get which you won't with SP12.

thank's for your assessment. Could you tell me if a list of known bugs is on display somewhere? Have you got any experiences in migrating XI from SP12 to SP15?

I just realised that the question was put on WebAS forum and not the EP forum. Anyhow, I've also upgraded the J2EE engine, of course.

I've no experience with XI, sorry.

I could provide a list with known bugs in EP SP15, but I'm not sure if you are interested in this?!

Hi Prasad,

from my personal list of OSS message, where it was stated that this will be fixed with SP16:

- "Document Version" (under Details for a resource) produces wrong number; it is not the version number of the document but the number how much versions exist -- will be translated with "Number of versions" or similar

- NullPointerException when Defining a SearchOptionSet and some things in the config are deleted from the list

- Wrong german text in people picker title -- just a misspelling

- Manual Ordering Possible for ReadOnly Users

- Misconfiguration of a property structure group, see note 815766

The following are open OSS messages without a solution provided by SAP so far:

- Editing external links creates two versions

- Creation of HTML file creates two versions instead of one

- Portal Drive and Versioning Create Inconsistent Names (quite specific but highly important if one uses versioning and must have this working for reasions of internal revision (bank))
