batch Job for LP21 failing Error Message no. LP314

Hi Gurus,

We have setup a background batch job for LP21 and for the program RLAUTA10 to create automatic TOs but we are facing errors only on few days where the first program (LP21) fails and gives the following error.

Replenishment for fixed bins in whse XXX stor.type XXX not possible now

Message no. LP314

Is it a master data issue? how can we resolve this?

Thanks

Rahul

Are there open T.O. when you see that error and are there bins that are below the bin minimum without any transfer order when you see the error?

In other words the error may be coming because there are already transfer orders and no new transfer orders are required for other bins. Hence replenishment not possible (or required).

You can refer to OSS note 1531498 in this regard as well in case there is some locking issue.

Perhaps you could also try to trigger the program in background manually and check the result but I would first confirm the issue is not a result of locking as described in the OSS note I mentioned. Second confirm whether or not the job if failing due to no replenishment needed.

If you can check for TO and replenishment demand while the batch job is failing it would help pin point the issue. In other word, because the batch job is turned off the fact that you can create manually doesn't provide good info (because it may not fail at this time via batch job either). Need to test manual when we know the job would fail or is failing in order to prove the issue is isolated to the batch job (or to show it is not isolated to the batch job). Hope that makes sence

Also just to clarify on this point "LP21 is failing" is that message in the job log after job completion or is the job getting canceled when you see the error/

    @ Jacob,

First to answer your question: Job is getting cancelled when that error occurs. Now let me explain the current scenario I checked the timing of the Job when it failed ... It worked correctly at 9:11 am and then failed at 9:41 am and then again at 9:45 am (after this we stopped it). Now I checked today how many TOs were generated for the particular warehouse and I wanted to find one TO which was created between the interval so that it could be proved that the issue is due to a pending TO but couldn't find any.

    @ manish

I am able to do it manually but when I do it now it says "no picking request created" which is an information not an error. Maybe because the auto TO batch job (RLAUTA10 ) is still running and it created TO from all TRs. I am not sure.

    Thanks

      Thanks for the additional details

If the RLAUTA10 job is still running then those programs must be on separate jobs (I normally add them as separate steps in the same batch job to ensure they don't run concurrently). Can you confirm the jobs are not running on top of each other? They should not be running at the same exact time, I forget the proper way to say it but the scheduling team can make the completion of the first job a prerequisite for the start of the second job.

That may not nessasarily be the issue but I would at least confirm they aren't running at the exact same time.

Are you able to create the TO manually using LP21(without Batch job). Please try once with manual option and  let us know the result

    Jacob,

We are investigating this but my guess is that someone manually locked the transaction when the batch job ran. It is working as of now but when it fails again we will have an exact ans.

    Thanks for all your reply.
