Hi,
I am trying to enroll a Android devices (Version 5.1 and 5.0) the enrollment process goes fine, but at the of the process it comes up with an error "unable to connect" and when I go to Afaria Client-configuration-Package Server it shows empty info none of the fields are filled in.
I do not have any problems in enrolling and iOS device and get the enterprise apps listed/installed but were as in the Android it shows "Featured Apps : None available".
Does it have to do something with the GCM ID because I am not sure if that is causing the problem.
Please let me know guys i am having this issue from several weeks and trying to figure out what has to be done.
Thanks
Raja
Hi
Perhaps a good place to start is firstly verifying that your android device can connect to the package server
I suggest the following
1. ensure that the package server RSOE is started
2. in the admin console ensure that your farm name is correct
3. since package delivery will happen over https, ensure the https tick is enable
4. if you are using a port over that 443 the port should be specified in your server address (see example attached)
5. ensure that the url suffix is /ias_relay_server/client/rs_client.dll
6. from the android device enter the following url : https://<RELAY_SERVE>:<PORT>/ias_relay_server/client/rs_client.dll/<FARM_ID> example : https://relay.gmz-transport.com:8080/ias_relay_server/client/rs_client.dll/afaria7sp5package
this should return an IIS page , if you get
1. page not found you likely entered the incorrect url , correct and try again
2. if you get a page asking if you would like to proceed to the next page , this means your device does not have the root certificate installed
Raja,
It sounds as if there is an issue with the device seeding. Check the device communication page under Server > Configuration. Androids actually connect directly to the Afaria server. Check the address at the bottom and make sure it is either your relay address or your server address. If using HTTP on the server, make sure the port specified on this page doesn't conflict with the IIS settings. Ensure that the RSOE is on and connecting if using relay. The Farm Id needs to be correct here as well.
I am making some assumptions that the package server is already correctly specified since it works for the iOS. I don't think this has much to do with GCM, but far more with initial configuration. Once you make changes on the device comm page, regenerate the enrollment code for the enrollment policy, and try the enrollment again.
