How to make Service Line entry mandatory for Unplanned Service Creation

Hi MM Experts,

When we create an Unplanned Service Creation:

1.PO made with Service Limit. Nos Service Tab Entries.PO released.

2.With Reference to the same PO, as service selection doesn't fetch any lines, we have to manually enter the Service Line details.

3.How can I make this Service Line entry mandatory?

4.When i tried for Customizing View for Service: Field Selection,

** ENTRY(5), I am able to make the header fields mandatory. But not the Service Line Entry Mandatory.

** ML81 also did not help me.

Thanks

Dear,

Could you try using enhancement spot ES-SAPLMLSP at the time of saving service entry sheet as per your client requirement.

Requirement is

"The user should not save an SES by ML81N without entering atleast one line of Service Line."

I assume what your user will do with a service entry sheet with no line item ? They can't do any further action for it.

You can put a restrict check with the enhancement SRVESLL (user exit EXIT_SAPLMLSP_031).

Actually when you are using item category D, then you can continue either entering a limit or entering a service line.

If you want to continue a service entry sheet (via ML81N) with reference to the purchase order, then you need to choose and enter the service line. If you choose and enter the Limit, then system will not allow to create a service entry sheet with regards to this purchase order.

If you want to continue with limit purchase order (without any service line), then you need to enter the service line manually in ML81N. You can't use the option 'Service Selection' as purchase reference.

Making the field 'Service Number' (or even any) mandatory will only work if you choose and enter a service line, it will become mandatory once you will put some value in service tab under purchase order.

Thanks Dibyendu,

Even i found the same. I just want the user not to save any SES without entering at least one Service Line detail.

Is there any need to use Limit for your scenario ?

Yes. My Customer uses this scenario as they are not sure about the Nature & Cost of the serivces. But keeps control of cost with the limit in PO. So when SESs are made against this PO Item Line with the Particular limit, a control on cost is managed.

May be you can try creating separate document types for PO with Limits and for PO with Services and have maintained separate field selection screen in SPRO-MM-External Service Management-Define Screen Layout here insert both the document types and see if you can hide the limits in Service PO document type.

Check this in Dev / Sandbox server and see if it works as per your requirement.

Hi,

in PO services are mandatory. if u not mentioned the services in po in ML81N it will not appear.

these are all planned services

if you need the unplanned services then put the amount in Limits tab.

at the time of ses u enter the manually by the unplanned amount and text

Thanks Kumar.

My requirement is to make the Manually entry mandatory for the user, if one create an SES with reference to Service PO with Limit(but no Service Line Entry).

Dear,

Normally system will populate a service selection screen once you click on "Service selection" button at the bottom.

What message you are getting in you case while clicking on "Service selection" button in ML81N screen.
