Solution Manager 7.1 Technical Monitoring / Sybase

Hi Tech Guys,

I have two questions regarding Solution Manager Technical Monitoring.

1. I have configured Technical Monitoring for our Sybase systems but I was wondering if it's possible to edit notification email that is being sent with the alert message. Particularly it is attaching HTML file with detailed information I we would like to get it directly in the email body.

2. Second question is directed to custom metrics in Sybase Technical Monitoring. Particulary I am interested in how we could get a metric regarding for example procedure cache usage in Monitoring ?

Hi Lukasz,

Please find the response below.

1. There is option to create the notification variant in the technical monitoring and there you can change the behaviour. Also you may need to implement the BADIs for your requirement (check the badi BADI_DYN_INCI_NOTIF_MULTIPLE).

2. Default metrics and events are provided in the standard templates for SYBASE you need to check that or You can create the custom metrics and alerts for your usage.

Also you may need to write the data source code if it is not provided in standard and if you want to implement it.

Hi Rishav,

Thank you for your reply. For the second bit, I know how to create it is more I that I have no idea were to find correct info to put it. I tried for Sybase 15.7 re-create data cache ratio metric. And it works with no problem.

Bu then I add for example open partitions or procedure cache metric stays gray. I will check the first question about email and reply as well.
