client logins slow after SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 update

We have two PC's running the SAP client. After the update it can take up to 5 minutes for the client to login.

The client on the server starts right away, no problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dean

Hi Dean,

As you said

The client on the server starts right away, but on client system it's taking approx 5 mins to logon.

Could you verify there should be no network latency in between clients & server, this issue could be as because of network conductivities .

Other would like to view/check system logs as well as SM50 snap-shot.Even you could locate the sever for any long running batch jobs which are consuming max CPU during client logins ( It could be SGEN executions,if you executed it or may any other update jobs ).

Please share the required to suggest you further.

Hi Dean

1. During the login time what is the over all usage of  CPU & Memory at server OS level?

2. Refer the Tuning of  Sql server DB
