BO4 - Delete object from universe

Hi,

Using bo4 sp08 and we would like to remove 3 objects from universe

Get message affect universe, business layer, incompatible items.

Whilst I can understand will affect existing reports i.e. if report uses object will get syntax error in columns where report used.

Can I just check safe in all respects apart from this to delete an object from a universe.

Using IDT unx universe.

Objects which you are going to delete it will impact reports if they are used in the reports.You will get error message in the reports/variables.

If these objects are used in any Pre-defined conditions then they don’t work.

Better first idenified the reports where they are used and remove from there and check universe conditions & objects also.

My sussgetion is keep these objects in the universe and If they are not going to be use then don’t select in reports.

If you don't want to use the objects, I'd recommend hiding them for a period at first (available via the right-click menu).

Then you'll need to see where else these are used, such as in @Select statements in other objects and predefined conditions. As well as that, review the reports in which they are used and determine if they are still needed or how easy it is to manage the transition from that object in the affected report. Have you agreed with the report owner that the object in question will no longer be available?
