Hi Experts,

I would like to know what is the difference between work clearance management and work permit management in business process and transactions and what is the exact use of work permit management I have read every topic on the blogs and internet websites but until now I haven't get a clear idea about the differents.

my second question does work permit management controls the status of work execution in the maintenance order

my third question what is the authorization level in work clearance management and also in work permit management. is it per WCM objects or it can be other levels for authorization like each permit it can have the authorization to be assigned to the user role

The Work Clearance Management is the overall function to manage the Work Clearance and the subsequent Tagging process( Tag/Untag).

In this process, SAP has introduced Work permit mgmt, where you can assign the native Work Permits and control the approvals.

The work permits are created and using approval hierarchy you can use to control the approvals for different kind of work.

Work permit is available SAP PM for a long time and they have used the same object to manage the hierarchical approvals for WCM

Hope this helps.
