Hi Ajay,

SIA is not visible

Tried uninstalling and re-installing still no luck

Only the first page of CMC and Infoview is getting loaded.

The cms seems to be non-responsive. As no cms process is seen in the task manager.

Hi Rajarshi,

In most of the cases, this issue happens due to Access/ Rights issue. I'm sure you must have gone through this already, but pls double check if it is valid in your case.

To install SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform on a Windows host, a user must have the following permissions:

Hi Nikhil,

Thanks but all the permissions were in place. Somehow I managed to install the business objects and set up the cluster but APS is getting failed.

Hi Rajarshi,

What different steps have been followed because of which it worked for you this time?

Also, in regards to APS - what is the exact issue that you are facing?

Have you configured the APS using System Configuration Wizard or Manually?

Try checking the installation logs, if it has any error or issues?

Hi Nikhil,

Answer: It got fixed after uninstalling and installing everything from scratch.

Also, in regards to APS - what is the exact issue that you are facing?

Answer: APS was failing to start

Have you configured the APS using System Configuration Wizard or Manually?

Answer: I have configured the APS manually.

Try checking the installation logs, if it has any error or issues?

Answer: The issue is resolved for now by removing SP2. I have noticed if we are installing SP2 it is showing the symptoms of SP2 failure each and every time. Now the Business Objects Version is 4.1 SP1. We are currently doing some hardware re-sizing and then go for SP2 installation again.

Hi,

If you are sure about the steps that you are carrying are correct - then I would suggest verify/ check the installation media (if in case its corrupted?)

Try downloading fresh copy from SCN and try to run the setup directly from the server than running it from any network location.

Raj,

Did you install Oracle 64bit driver?  The BI4 Platform is pure 64bit and MUST have proper 64bit ODBC drivers.

  • Do you see the tables being created within the CMS database ?
  • Does the SIA start properly?
  • Are you able to connect to CMC from the SIA?
  • Do you see all the services properly started on windows task manger?

Regards,

Ajay
