GR Processing time issue.

Hello Experts,

For a material I have Maintained GR processing time as '1' in material master.

For that material I have production order.

In production order I changed GR processing time to '5'.

So which GR processing time it will consider in ATP check?

please help me to understand.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rahul,

In this case it would take 5.

Example if your order start date is 29.05.2015 & end date is 02.06.2015, and if you add 5 working days in order for GR, then material availability of this (header material) would be on 10.06.2015 (considering holidays etc.). If I cahnge the same in order to 3 then it would be this 08.06.2015. Material master data is just for reference which gets copied to order and if you overwrite the same, that would be considered.

Let me know if it resolved your query.

Regards

Rahul

Thanks Rahul for the quick reply.

One more doubt I have.we have enhancement to add TRLT time mainatained in MM to GR processing time.

So for example For material 'X we have TRLT time=5 ,GR processing time=1 in Material Master.

Our enhacement is adding TRLT time to GR processing while doing in ATP check.

It is working as expected if MRP element is TransReqs.

But in case of PrdOrd case it is taking GR processing time as mainatained in Production order.

So is it standard that it will always take GR processing time mainatained in Prod Order for MRP element PrdOrd?

Hi Rahul,

Yes that's a standard. TRLT is used for the availability check but not increase the time in production order itself like GR time. If you have allowed in your availability check to consider this then only it comes into picture and that to for checking whether there are sufficient incoming quantities and stocks available to cover the requirements within the RLT. Outside this time system assumes material is more then sufficient.

I hope it cleared your query.

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

Please note that system always gives first priority to "transactional" GRPT data. If it doesn't find any, it reads the value from material master. The final calculation after considering the transactional data would result in the availability of the reciept at the recieving location.

Thanks & Best Regards,
