DP Planning Area Initialization - Keyfigure Specific Settings

Hello All,

This is regarding DP Planning Area initialization.

We have Global Period and also keyfigure specific settings for time periods defined in the variant for Planning Area initialization. Requirement is to change the time period(From Date) for one of the keyfigure-"Utility2".  I am trying to change the 'From Date' to some earlier date for Utility2 Keyfigure, it gives an error message as -  "From" date must be later than or same as 01/26/2015.  I thought this was the easiest task to achieve, until I knew about this issue.

I have already tried to create new variant, but it did not solve the issue. Please refer attached screenshot.

(FYI - We are at SCM 7.13 Enhancement Pack 3.)

Please suggest if you know anything on this issue.

Hi Satish,

Try in ADMIN, planning area ZDP02 to generate (create) time series object start with 05/01/2012 (or desired date).

Thanks Marius for your response.

I have already tried using MSDP_ADMIN-Create Time Series Object option for that Planning Area/Version. However it did not help as same exact error continued.

You can refer the screenshot.

Any other input/ideas?

What is the creation date of the copy?

This planning version(DP02) is 4 year old.

What I need is to initialize DP planning area with one of the keyfigure having "From" date earlier than what it is currently.

One point is - If I change "From" date in the Global Period, then all the dates from keyfigures settings gets adjusted as well.

Awaiting any inputs/suggestions.

Try to change the date through Start/End date in the Multiple Maintenance section! 

Also, you could de-initialize and then initialize Planning Area. I think that is better to use the same start/end date for all key figures.

Multiple maintenance is already tried, but with no success.

We do not want to de-initialize planning area, if that is case then we will rather add a new keyfigure which doesn't need de-initialize.

If anyone faced similar issue,  please do share your inputs. I am leaving this question open till we find real solution for it.
