Regarding HR Business Partner integration with CRM

Greetings experts,

I'm an HCM jr, and I've been given the task to set up everything need for Organizational Structure (existing in R3 system-"backend") replication into CRM system. This replication has to bring organizational structure and employee data.
I don't have such expertise on SAP capabilities regarding HCM integrations, but I 've done some research to come up with the following planning, which I would thank in advance for you guys to tell me wether I'm in the right path or something else is needed:

1. BASIS configuration for ALE (Application Link Enabling) between CRm and HCM and apply sap notes regarding Business Partner Integration, automatic assignment and related to Business Partner in general.

2. Checking SALES ORG, DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS, DIVISIONS, SALES AREA (all of them through ERP IMG path). Then check assignments of SALES OFFICE, COMPANY CODE, DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL, DIVISIONS.

3. Set up Business Partner Integration: Needed to define Number Ranges for ORG Business Partners, grouping for ORG Business Partner, and Setting up integration by assigning grouping defined previously (all through CRM IMG path)

HRALX HRAC X

4. Executing Report for Changeover classification.

Please tell me what else would I be missing.

Besides, I have a question about Business Partner. If there are no number ranges or groupings defined for Business Partners in ECC R/3 HCM System, do they need to be configured as exactly as in SAP CRM system? Or does that configuration need only to be done in CRM system.

Thanks in advance saviors.

Hi Carlos,

You're on the right track. I've provided some mandatory steps for integration between CRM and HR:

The steps are:

Organizational Model Synchronization ERP <-> CRM
Checking Sales Organization (SAP ERP)
Checking Distribution Channels (SAP ERP)
Checking Divisions (SAP ERP)
Checking Sales Areas (SAP ERP)
Checking Assignment of Sales Offices to Sales Areas (SAP ERP)
Checking Assignment Company Code  Sales Organization (SAP ERP)
Checking Assignment Distrib. Channel  Sales Org. (SAP ERP)
Checking Assignment Division  Sales Organization (SAP ERP)
Maintain Organizational Data for Sales and Service Scenarios
Performing Division Settings (SAP CRM)
Define Divisions
Define Distribution Channels
Define Combination of Distribution Channel and Division
Maintaining Organizational Model
Assign Attributes to Organizational Unit
Matching Sales Organization
Matching Sales Offices
Matching Service Organization
Assigning Company Code to Billing Unit
Assigning Business Area to Service and Sales Organization
Assigning Plant and Storage Location to Service Organization

****Besides, I have a question about Business Partner. If there are no number ranges or groupings defined for Business Partners in ECC R/3 HCM System, do they need to be configured as exactly as in SAP CRM system? Or does that configuration need only to be done in CRM system.

The number range is required to be configured both in ECC and CRM. Example:

ECC internal number range = CRM external number range

ECC external number range = CRM internal number range.

This is very important to have BP getting replicated properly between two systems.

Hope these information helps you!

Thanks for the answer Indrajit. Do you know if there are mandatory infotypes? As far as I could research, for org objetcs you mainly need it 1000, 1001, 1002, 1028, 1032, and for P objects (personal object) you need it001, 002, 006/1, 009 and 105 (105 in case for SALES EMPLOYEES data).
Thanks again.
