Error message trying to connect to database

I am trying to assist a co-worker troubleshoot an error with CR 2011. The error below only happens when they try to establish a connection to create a new report. If they open/edit an existing report, no error occurs.

They have tried re-installing CR 2011. Deleting the existing connections and creating a new one. Any help is appreciated. Does this have anything to do with a potential corrupt CRConfig file?

    Hi Glen

The error is coming directly from the db client, unmodified by the CR engine. E.g.; check the db documentation for the error.

Also, make sure you are on the latest service pack for CR 2011:

Downloads for SAP Crystal Reports and others

Finally, see if the search string 'crystal oracle' bring up anything. Search box is in top right corner. Once the search results are returned, you may want to filter for SAP Notes (Left side of page).
