While opening a bookmark, Portal User is asked for SAP Logon Details

Hi Folks

We are using Enterprise Portal and BW Web Reporting. The Users do not get access to SAP BW system but they get only the Portal access.

Some of our BEx reports are web enabled and are available on Portal. Users logon to portal, execute the BW Web reports and create bookmarks. But when they try open already created bookmarks, then a SAP Logon Dialogue Box pops up which asks them to enter their SAP BW Production Logon Details.

I have a question in this regard:

Is it logically correct? By opening the bookmarks, Users are trying get data out of SAP BW System. So it seems okay in one instance that system asks users to enter their SAP BW Logon details.

But on the contrary, the whole idea behind web enabling the reports and making them available on portal is that users should not be required to have access to SAP BW Back-end.

Could you please help me in figuring out the correct way system should behave. Also if there is any anomaly in system behaviour then please suggest how can we prevent the SAP BW Logon Prompt from appearing when a user tries to open a bookmark.

Many Thanks

Abhijit

Yes, bookmarks are requesting data directly from the BW Web Application Server, but it shold still work with the same logon. Just make sure that you enter the portal before executing the bookmark. And if it still doen't work, it is probably a problem with basis SSO settings.
