Hi All, I have created the Full Database Backup Schedule in our Production System. Total Allocated Backup Size is 233 GB Approx is out of 600 GB as shwoing in DB02. However while checking the backup size for today we found that Backup Size is showing 456 GB. I am suspecting that it might be taking the Yesterday's and day before Yesterday's backup combined. So my question is that is there any option from SAP level to enable the overwrite exisiting backup option i.e from transaction cod DB13. We are curently using SAP Netweaver 7 .0 Thanks and Regards Anurag

Hi Anurag,

It seems your daily backup is happening in the same folder of disk drive and due to this it is appending the last backup file. To avoid this issue you can create different backup devices at DB level w.r.t backup retention period and reschedule the backup in DB13 with newly created backup devices.

Thanks.

Hi Anurag,

Please check the following Note 935968 - MSSQL: DB13/DBACOCKPIT overwrites backups on NW 2004s

As per the sapnote , overwrite of database backup is a implicit feature in MSSQL.
