AS2 reciever adapter - party creation needed?

Dear All,

creating a Party in Intergration Derectory for AS2 adapter compulsory for a successful communication ? Can we create the ID configurations without creating a Party.

If yes then what I need to enter in Party Agency / Scheme / Name fields ?
