Facing issue with Report results export(.csv export instead of .xls export)

Hello Experts,

I am facing a strange issue where in, I am getting .csv export if I try to export the results of one particular report.

I have done the following checks from my end.

  • Checked all the system properties
  • This issue is only with one report in the whole system.
  • I tried to replicate the same in Sandbox by taking OMA export from Prod and imported into sandbox. But no use.
  • Checked File Attachment containers
  • And some basic checks.

Please let me know if anyone faced this issue before.

Hi Vigneshwar,

is problem occurring for all user's or only one ?

In case all, check if you are using "Workbook Template" in query, please check if its CSV or XLS.

If its only for one user, check user setting "Export to Excel" check box is uncheck.

This issue is with all users.

We are not using Workbook Template in the query. That field is empty.

Hi Vignesh,

Can you share ESO version and the exact location from which the Report is executed? (meaning if it's a list page, or in a channel, or a report under Analysis Rep or Administrative Rep)

Hello Bogdan,

We are currently in Sourcing Version: 9.0.16.00.

This report is executed from Contract Management Workbench Sub-menu.(List page)

Hmm, so after transporting the report via OMA to sandbox, it is exporting as XLS in sdb system? Both systems are at same patch level I presume.

If the issue is only in PROD, you can try one thing to exclude the report itself:

- get OMA exports for both SDB and PROD system for that report

- extract OMA (as zip) and compare the xml files inside with a DIFF tool

     - check for any differences (excluding object ids); maybe some config is not transported correctly via OMA to sandbox
