Webi Prompt List of values Issue

Former Member

Hi,

I have created a webi prompt with list of value. But at refresh it is not showing list of values.

Use search criteria to retrieve values.

The search is case sensitive. Here are examples of search criteria.

Search = a* -> Retrieve all values starting with "a".

Search = *a -> Retrieve all values ending with  "a".

Search = a*a -> Retrieve all values starting and ending with "a".

Search = a*a* -> Retrieve all values starting and
containing one more "a".

With a * option it will show all List of values.

Please suggest how to get List of values in starting only without giving any search criteria.

And also I am using fiscal Year /period dimension object as a prompt . If we  drag and drop the dimension in report, APR 2015 data is
populating.

But in prompt with list of value APR 2015 is not appearing. Please suggest how to get List of values in prompt.

Regards,

Navya

Navya,

I am also having same issue and i am using 4.1 SP 2. I am not sure you found the work around. if you can create prompts in BEX query it will populate LOV values in WEBI.

Thanks

HI Navya ,

Don't use class object in the prompts .

use Dimension object within the class (reresented by black up arrow).

APR 2015 (current month -1), may be showing default value assigned to BEx variable .Check variable in BEx.

Hi Navya,

The parameters which you see on the screen are BEx query parameters and not BO level prompts;

therefore, this issue is related to SAP BEx query properties and NOT WebIntelligence.

You need to open the BEx query in Query Builder and check the properties of the variables on which the parameters have been defined.

I am not good in BEx; however, you can go ahead and check the type of the variable. I think the processing type should be Manual Entry/Default Value,

To troubleshoot, you can try opening the SAP Query in BEx Analyzer and check if you see the LOVs there.

Please take assistance from SAP BW expert in order to fix this issue.

Hope it will help.

HI Yuvraj,

I have given Fiscal Year/ Period prompt at BO side. And we are using bex query as a source by using BICS connection.

For Year /period dimension prompt search with APR* and see if you will get the LOV’s or not. If you do not want to  search then in the universe remove the object property “Delegate search”.

At the report run time you can see the LOV’s. This is useful when object have large volume of data, with this  option you can reduce the LOV’s loading time in the webi prompt.
