Upgrade SAP Business One 8.82 PL from 05 to 19

Hi everybody,

my task is to upgrade our SAP Business One installation to the highest PL (background: connecting to SAP BO via Android).

So I want to upgrade from PL 05 to PL 19 - big jump .

I have no expirience in upgrading SAP BO - so I´m asking the experts here.

What is the easiest way to upgrade (e.g. upgrade-wizard)?

I´m sure that it isn´t that easy, so where are the dangerous parts. Do I need to delegate the task to a charged SAP partner?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Benjamin

PL upgrade is not a big jump. You dont need to worry about it too much.

Basically if you dont have add-on etc, it will be very smoothly. I assume u didnt use some triggers or SAP unwanted stuff.

The upgrade wizard is very good.

Hi Frank,

indeed the upgrade wizard is helpful.

Unfortunately I can´t upgrade the system.

There are two warnings

1. Warning about inconsistency with udt

2. Wrong setting for collation in Sql-Server (2005): expected "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" found Latin1_General_CI_AS“

Courageous I ignored the warnings and tried to upgrade, but then I got a real error: "SAP feature transfer error" at the server tools. After restoring the system I tried again and now it worked until the outlook integration ... again "SAP feature transfer error". Yet again restore the system but I could not restore the outlook integration - seems broken.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advanced.

Best regards,

Benjamin

Hi Frank,

yesterday I upgraded successfully.

First I de-installed outlook integration.

Thanks

Hi Benjamin,

I rememeber reading somewhere (still finding the SAP note) that upgrades that supersede PL04 will bring errors and that one should first upgrade to PL4 before proceeding to upgrades that are above it.

Hi Isaac,

you speak about a major-release upgrade from 8.82 to 9 ?!

I just want to upgrade the patch level from 8.82-PL-05 to 8.82-PL-19.

Best regards,

Benjamin
