DIP: Each WBS in 1 line at the DMR order - how to?

Hi'

I hope some of you can help us

Our solution:

* Material A is added at Contract i VA41

*A project with network and activities is created automatically (assembly processing)

*The project are changed to fit each delivery - end up with 2-30 WBS-elements

*CATS-confirmations at the network activities are created in CAT2 and transferred to the project through CAT5

*DP91 capture CATS-confirmations with activity type A = material A, B = material B and C = material C (material determination)

The DMR contain 1 line item per activity type

Now we would like the DMR to have these line items:

WBS 1 with activity type A

WBS 1 with activity type B

WBS 1 with activity type C

WBS 2 with activity type A

WBS 2 with activity type B

WBS 2 with activity type C

WBS 3 with activity type A

and so on.

How can we solve this issue?

The WBS-elements have different names for each project. We had not succes to create a Set reflecting this.

How can we make the setup resulting in the mentioned DMR line items.

I hope for some input.

The WBS should never be used as a material determining characteristic.  It is the source of the cost lines which are evaluated to determine the correct billing material.  Typically you use Cost Element and Activity Type.

Make sure you use no summarization and you will receive a line on the DMR for every cost posting line.

We use the cost element to material determination, but we would like to have a DMR line item per WBS+billing material (as descibed above).

Yes I have tried that.

But Im supposed to enter a Set - and I cannot figure out how to create a Set when the WBS-element IDs are different in each contract/project.

If I create a Set with interval form/to all possible WBS-elements SAP throughs error back that I could not ente a Set which is a selection variant.

Beyond that - As far as I understand I need to determine 1 material for each line item in the DMR (???)

But I have different number of WBS-elements in each project.

How should I solve this in the DIP?

Should I have 7 lines i material determination to get 7 line items as in the example above - and how should I do to "desribe" each WBS when the number is diffeent in each project?

For activity types/cost elements the IDs are the same every time, but not for WBS.

I hope you understand what I try to desribe

Hi Lone,

set is created by using GS01 tcode.

in this scenario you dont need any set for WBS Element. sets are used to enter a list of objects in selection criteria or criteria under material determination.

for above example you need to maintain no summarization in characteristics. like if you want activity type wise than you should use no summarization for activity type.

about 7 line items if you have timesheet posted with reference to all of activity types than these line items will reflect along with material determined.

Customizing needed for these 7 line items in DMR:

(CAT-confirmations at network activities underneath WBS 1, 2 and 3. Using 3 different activity types (except for WBS 3 - where confirmations only for 1 actvity type))

WBS 1 with activity type A

WBS 1 with activity type B

WBS 1 with activity type C

WBS 2 with activity type A

WBS 2 with activity type B

WBS 2 with activity type C

WBS 3 with activity type A

For characteristic WBS-element:

* Relevant

* Should mat. det., no summarization or Structuring be active??
We have tried with Structuring - but it seems to need a set. We have tried to create sets through GS01, but still get error.

For characteristic activity type:

* Relevant

* Material determination (today we have this material determination because we put price for customer/material. Then each activity type determine a specific material)

* No summarization

Should I mark characteristic

"CBAD WBS Element" or "WBS Element"

please do not select structure for WBS element.

if you want to determine material on basis of activity type than select material determination for this only.

for WBS you can select characrelevant and no summarization only.

I still get only the line items that are derived from material determination

Project

I would like to have DMR-lines as the summarizing in CATS-DA here:

WBS

       Activity type (connected with cost element, which derive the "new" material, which has the billing price per hour)

DIP right now, I have tried several changes without luck.:

DMR - only line item for the materials derived from cost element - all the rest are summarized:

In table AD01DLI I have no data for WBS.

I have tried to create confirmations direct at the WBS - not the network activity. But still no data for WBS in AD01DLI.

I guess that could be the reason that "summarization" does not work?

Maybe a user exit could put the data in AD01DLI - I wonder if that would give the correct result for me?!
